"A beautiful and inspiring family cookbook" Marco Pierre White

"Books like Kids Cook the World allow food to have an important social value" Ferran Adrià

"Big up to all the young people who helped to create this fabulocious book! It's fantastic when young people get into the kitchen and express themselves through flavours and recipes; and with this book, I'm certainly inspired!" Levi Roots

A unique, timely, real life cookbook created by families for families, Kids Cook the World is aimed at encouraging children to think about what they eat and inspiring families to bond by cooking together.

With healthy, easy and affordable meals, each dish is bursting with delicious flavours from countries across the world. The book is endorsed by Marco Pierre White, Levi Roots and has a foreword by the world's greatest chef, Ferran Adrià of elBulli.

Kids Cook the World aims to instil a passion in families for good, wholesome healthy food as well as a passion for life. Author Sean Mendez explains, "The freedom to experiment, make a mess, burn food and cause spillages was all part of a wonderful learning experience for these young people. This book is about more than just creating tasty food. It’s about celebrating the different cultures within their own community and building confidence in children that will benefit other areas of their lives".

Kids Cook the World offers vegetarian alternatives for the meat recipes, which range from jollof rice to fajitas. With easy-to-follow instructions and step-by-step colour photos throughout, the recipes are made with no-fuss ingredients found in most supermarkets. The book allows you to learn while you cook with fascinating facts and stunning photography for each country featured. For example, did you know that "Chi Le Mei You" (“Have you eaten?”) is a traditional Chinese greeting?

Kids Cook the World is published in partnership with New Internationalist, an organisation that has experience of creating and selling well-received, useful and engaging cookbooks. It makes a big difference if you purchase the book from us or other retailers; we ensure every penny you pay goes directly to our work in the community. We would like to say a big thank you to the families who helped us with the recipes and the people who volunteered their time to make this project a reality!
