"This project gave me enough time to apply for university over the summer” Thando
After cooking and enjoying our delicious meals, we played a variety of sports such as football and cricket, in which the children learnt the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship. Every Friday, we treated the children to the following special trips:
DEEN CITY FARM
A unique educational resource, full of wonderful animals and nature. Children will be given the opportunity to feed the animals.
SCIENCE MUSEUM
This museum is world renowned for its historical collections and awe-inspiring galleries. We will also explore the new butterfly exhibition.
KEW GARDENS
Rare species of plants, flowers and trees as far as the eye can see. Over 300 acres of tranquillity, landscapes and heritage.
NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
Meet creepy-crawlies, the unforgettable blue whale and experience an earthquake! A new 3D dinosaur exhibition awaits our children.
LONDON SEA-LIFE AQUARIUM
One of Europe's largest collections of global marine life, next to the London Eye. Animals range from huge sharks to tiny sea horses.
QPR FOOTBALL STADIUM
A tour of this newly refurnished stadium. Children will explore the player’s dressing rooms, launches and sit in the dug out.
The project culminated in the production of an exciting colourful, fact filled international children's cookery book. The book primarily aims to celebrate and reflect the cultural diversity of the children who attended the project.
In these times of increasing concerns over the state of the family and childhood obesity reaching epidemic proportions, the book will promote healthy, happy living by encouraging families to spend time cooking together. We are currently in the process of securing a publisher, and hope to have the book on the shelves soon.
